Although Blizzcon previously haven't been a reoccurring event, Blizzard just announced a '08 version of the popular happening (World Wide Invitational and Blizzcon all in one year, woot).
Blizzcon 08 will take place in the same place as past installments, Anahime Convention Centre, October 10-11.

The PTR forums has been wiped and the notes for patch 2.4.2 is up. News includes:
Lowered transmute timers
4 day timers are lowered to 3 days
Cooldown removed on Void Shatter
Brilliant Glass no longer requires a forge, and has a chance to give an epic quality gem
Arena team/personal rating restrictions posted about yesterday is taken into effect

[Updated at the bottom] Drysc just posted an update on the official US forums, detailing some changes coming with Arena Season 4. While it's been hinted that the requirements would be higher for the next gear level, the changes may take many by surprise. They are in fact aimed to make Arena a more competitive and skill based form of playing by rewarding higher team ratings, and punishing team hopping.

Looking back on yesterdays April Fool's Day's pranks I thought I'd mention three more of note.
Wowhead.com fooled me for a second or two with their front page layout change. "Did I type thottbot.com by mistake? Wait, didn't I use my bookmark? Wth... *ahaaaaaa*"
